The Warzone 2100 Legacy Project has indeed been in a long, sporadic development mode, with little getting done for months at a time, but that's because Subsentient, the chief developer, has been busy with other things, not because of the project's demise. Development is slowly starting up again now, and a new site will be arriving in a few weeks. A new version of the lobby server software has been written that adds more reliability and new capabilities to multiplayer in Legacy, and we invite the Linux/UNIX users to build the latest version of Legacyfrom the microwave branch for Legacy on GitHub. Don't use the beta; The alpha/beta releases are based on a codebase (3.1_beta11) we have moved away from, and we have instead opted to base on 2.3, and progress is going marvelously. You'll find useful new features like the ability to change maps, game names, and passwords without rehosting, for high oil, the ability to drag-build on adjacent oil derricks, (must select derrick from build menu). and the new in-lobby and in-game command line, accessible by typing !help in chat. Thanks for your patience. -Subsentient The old site can be accessed here and the forums can be found at forums.warzonelegacy.org until the new site and forums go up.
